Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm okay. I have been getting a lot of concerned emails regarding my safety because of the news that there was a powerful earthquake in Japan. I will admit that I first found out about the earthquake from all of you in the States, because I don't really watch TV or listen to the radio here!
Here's a link to the article I read about the quake: "Earthquakes Rock Pacific Nations"
And pictures from BBC: In Pictures
The earthquake was on the central island of Honshu. I am living on the southern island of Kyushu. On Friday, I actually did feel a small earthquake while I was cooking dinner. It almost sounded like someone was knocking loudly on my neighbor's door, but then I realized that my chairs were shaking. It lasted about 1 second, so I thought nothing of it because it happens maybe once a month. I guess that little one was probably a precursor to the big one on Sunday.
Anyway, I'm perfectly fine, and thank you so much to everyone for their emails of concern. But of course let's keep all the people affeccted by the earthquake in our thoughts and prayers.
